DAVE WHITEHEAD’S SOUND DESIGN WORKSHOP – 24TH OF MARCH AT 2:05 PM AT THE CIVIC THEATRE

In both 2014 and 2015, Dave Whitehead has enchanted Māoriland Film Festival audiences as he breaks down what it takes to make the sound behind a film.

In 2016 he will return for another year of exciting and intriguing industry insights!

Dave Whitehead (Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungungu) is one of New Zealand’s foremost sound designers. With over 20 years experience in the film industry, his credits span numerous Hollywood blockbusters which includes Lord of the Rings, District 9, The Hobbit, Elysium, The Adventures of TinTin and many more.

When asked about how being Māori informs his craft, Dave Whitehead says that he injects his Māori perspective and knowledge of different methods of creating sound into every work that he produces.
