Wānanga Matauranga is a series of six wānanga at the Māoriland Hub for Maoriland artists, aimed at expanding tikanga tuku iho unlocking creative potential. “Transforming from Deficit to Abundance”.
The first wānanga looks into mōteatea and waiata from our rohe, and will include kōrero from Rawiri Rikihana.
Wānanga Mātauranga is a strengths-based Māori leadership project to support the Māoriland community working in screen production, toi Māori, taonga tuku iho, creative technology, performing arts, and arts events; to enable their ongoing, significant contribution to the cultural sector in Aotearoa and across the world.
The 12 month project is built on Māoriland tikanga to uplift Māori and Indigenous artists through collaboration, self care, empowerment and access to capacity building resources.
This co-designed project is based on artist collaboration to gain breakthrough solutions for our community; Whanaungatanga, Hauora, Mana tangata, Rangatiratanga.
