  • Indigenous Key Creative Bio Gillian has worked in both management and production roles during her extensive years in the screen industry and is well regarded for her years of advocacy for indigenous stories and mentoring of emerging filmmakers. Having worked as an Investment and Development Manager in Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department, Gillian collaborated with filmmakers and project managed across screen projects, both scripted and factual. Prior to this Gillian, worked at SBS Indigenous Media Unit as a Production Manager across series and one off documentaries, light entertainment and special event programming. Gillian worked as Series Producer on the 6 x 30 min Documentary TV Series Family Rules for NITV. In 2016. 2017/2018 saw Gillian complete a 12mth Producer Placement with David Jowsey & Greer Simpkin at Bunya Productions working across various stages of production and post on Sweet County, Mystery Road TV Series and Blue Water Empire. Gillian also started her production Company Kalori Productions with her first co-production being the documentary Black Divaz for NITV (Director Adrian Wills), which premiered at Sydney Mardi Gras Queer Screen Film Festival where it was awarded the Audience Award for Best Documentary. Gillian teamed up with emerging filmmaker Michael Hudson to producer Tie That Bind which premiered at the 2019 Sydney FIlm Festival and won the Event Cinema Award for Best Short Screenplay. Gillian continues to collaborate with Adrian Wills on a feature length documentary titled Kindred that will see the filmmakers tell their remarkable story about family, love and friendship as well as developing feature drama projects together. And with Michael Hudson on a web series idea currently developing through the Screen Australia/SBS Digital Originals Initiative.
