Wamin means apple in Atikamekw. Red on the outside, white on the inside. It’s an insult to people who leave their communities to go and live in the city. A young Atikamekw woman shows that living outside her reserve does not make her any other person than who she really is.

  • Indigenous Key Creative Bio At a young age Oqim became obsessed with movies, often making up games based on characters with his friends, occasionally reciting famous film quotes. In 2013 Oqim lost his Father, Step Brother and Grand Father within one year. Although heartbroken, it inspired Oqim to follow in his dreams of being an actor. This inspiration lead to the production of his first independent film, “Indian Times” which he self produced in 2016. In 2017, Oqim participated with Wapkikoni Mobile for the first, but surely not the last time.
