Information Collection for Young People
When young individuals (rangatahi) sign up for our initiatives, we collect the following information:
-
Name
-
Age
-
School
-
Iwi (if relevant, optional)
-
Contact number
-
Contact email
-
Address (if relevant)
-
Parent/caregiver number (if under 18)
-
Parent/caregiver email (if under 18)
When rangatahi participate through their school or another group, we request limited information, and a teacher or responsible adult acts as the key contact instead of a parent/caregiver.
Rangatahi are informed of the purpose and potential usage of their information, including screening and sharing of media for promoting Māoriland Charitable Trust, sharing with media, and public presentation of their work.
Our Kaiwhakahau Hōtaka manages this information and decides how and when it’s shared.
The purpose of collecting this information is to ensure we have the appropriate information to contact parents/caregivers as required, or to fulfill the requirements of a program.
Personal identifiers are retained for five years, after which only key statistics are kept. Information associated with films is maintained indefinitely, with notification to rangatahi and their parents.
Rangatahi and/or their parents can request corrections or removal of their information at any time.
