Well known for his hypnotic and original One man and his Ghost Orchestra show, enigmatic multi-instrumentalist Delaney Davidson both defines and commands his own unique realm in the shadowy musical world some call ‘Country-Noir’ or ‘Gothic Americana’. This NZ singer-songwriter has produced countless phenomenal solo albums, as well as collaborations with fellow artists including Troy Kingi, Tami Neilson, and Marlon Williams.
Blues and Soul Magazine (UK) describes him as “Sublime Raw and Original” while the Examiner (US) articulates his unique talent as “Familiar yet properly outsider, modern yet somehow classic”. Back here at home, he has recently been named NZ Country Music Artist of the year 2020.

Doors open 8 pm
Delaney Davidson starts 9 pm
‘Māoriland Presents’ is a series of unique live performances held in the Māoriland Hub, a former department store based in Ōtaki. Designed with fans of Aotearoa’s best musicians in mind, each performance holds two sets exclusive to the one headlining artist. Each show is hosted by Māoriland, the organisation who produce the annual Māoriland Film Festival, who speak with the artist about their inspirations and motivations before each performance and allow a limited capacity audience to submerge into the artists’ work.
