MĀORILAND FILM FESTIVAL is bringing a group of young Māori filmmakers to run a FREE filmmaking workshop for communities that support Indigenous youth!
“Te Uru Maire” – the Māoriland Rangatahi (youth) Strategy unites film, creativity, innovation and technology to develop young Indigenous creatives for the future of work as story leaders, creatives and entrepreneurs. Over the past 10 years, Te Uru Maire has resulted in the upskilling of over 100 young Māori filmmakers, the majority of whom are now working in the screen industry.
During this workshop, Māoriland’s Rangatahi Manager and Rangatahi Filmmakers – Ngā Pakiaka (Māori youth collective) will share strategies and resources for filmmakers, educators and community leaders to bring Te Uru Maire into their own practice with Indigenous youth.
