12 Week Intensifier Course
In an NZ first, Māoriland is partnering with Skawennati from AbTec – Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace based in Montreal to bring the Skins Machinima Workshop. Machinima is the use of real-time computer graphics engines to create a cinematic production. The word “machinima” is a combination of the words machine and cinema.
The focus of this Creative Intensifier is to produce films using virtual environments. In a NZ first Māoriland will be running a 12-week workplace training program in Machinima. Delivered in partnership with Abtec.
Participants will tell stories, develop a script, storyboard, design characters, build sets, record footage, edit and add sound to produce their own machinima rooted in Indigenous storytelling practice.
There are limited places on this 12-week paid workplace training program supported by Māori Trades training. If you have a passion and skills to create Māori films, this program is for you.
Recommended experience:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Script writing ability
- Demonstrated passion for storytelling
- Computer literacy & ability to problem-solve new technology
