Māoriland Film Festival – Officially a Charitable Organisation
Over the past three and a half years, Māoriland Film Festival has proven itself as a venue for the exhibition of Indigenous film and as an entertainment and education provider for the community of Ōtaki. During this period, our work has been largely volunteered.
As of late August, Māoriland Film Festival is officially a charitable organisation.
Our official purpose is to improve the social, economic and education opportunities to the community of Ōtaki by means of screening Indigenous films and organising activities such as filmmaking workshops.
Our Trust is guided by the principle tikanga of manaakitanga, tino rangatiratanga, kotahitanga and whanaungatanga.
We’re excited to have consolidated our kaupapa in this official format and are now officially on the hōiho, planning our 2017 Film Festival!
If you are an Indigenous filmmaker or creative artist and would like to submit your work for our 2017 festival, please submit here: www.bit.ly/MFF2017Submissions
